Two native Austinites founded Tower Property Management, Justin Rourke and John Martin, Tower Property Management has challenged the “big money” property services status quo since 2015. After decades of working with Sales, Tenants, Landlords, and other Property Managers and having purchased rental properties themselves, it was clear Central Texas’s bustling market needed to be met. Never one to settle, the duo joined forces to form a new type of property management company. One that valued integrity & accountability, relationships with property owners and tenants alike, and embraced technology to provide state-of-the-art 24/7 services for its valued clientele. Today, Tower Property Management is one of the most-referred property management companies in the Austin area, with countless testimonials of their honest and affordable services. This is what prompted Harris Bay to connect with TPM, creating the new project, The Duke. The focus at Harris Bay is being part of and creating stunningly designed projects that transform and shape neighborhoods and cities. Our slogan is “Rooftops to Skylines,” which shares the vision of our goal of building a single rooftop to move and change the skylines of cities. Coming Spring of 2023, The Duke is a 4-story, 40,000 sq ft mixed-use project comprising 34 luxury apartments and 10,000 sq ft ground floor retail. “The Duke” by Austin-based DesignTrait is a sustainable urban design project that uses modern industrial components with traditional Texas finishes in a new exciting way.

Please talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned. Looking back, has it been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the current stage, The Duke is in, common obstacles such as labor and supply shortages and the weather push our completion date slightly. Aside from that, The Duke and Tower’s collaboration with Harris Bay has been a smooth road.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
